TECHNOLOGIES | Delta Processing

Two distinct methods were adopted to reduce the amount of data required to reconstruct a file which is being transmitted to the Titan Data Vault Server from a Titan Data Vault Agent for backup purposes. These include the use of data compression and delta processing. In the case of compression, standard high compression techniques were utilized on a per-packet basis as the data is being transmitted to the server. Delta processing involves having a representation of an older version of the file available to the client and using this to determine exactly where the changes are in the file and updating those areas which have changed.
